Dr. ABW Gureja is a highly accomplished Consultant Interventional Pulmonologist and Critical Care & Medical Specialist with over 15 years of experience in Respiratory Medicine, Internal Medicine and Healthcare Leadership. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Pulmonology at Abu Umara Medical & Dental College. He is also affiliated as Consultant Interventional Pulmonologist with the Institute of TB & Chest Medicine, Mayo Hospital Lahore, where he contributes to advanced clinical & interventional practice and teaching.
After earning his MBBS from Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad, Dr. ABW Gureja pursued his postgraduate specialization in Pulmonology (FCPS) through the College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan. To complement his medical expertise, he also holds a Diploma in Ultrasonography and MBA in Marketing, equipping him with a unique blend of clinical, diagnostic, and administrative skills.
His clinical expertise spans respiratory infections, asthma, COPD, interstitial lung diseases, lung malignancies, and pleural diseases. He is highly skilled in interventional procedures including Flexible Bronchoscopy, Pleuroscopy, Endo-bronchial and Pleural Biopsies, Thoracic Ultrasound (TUS) and Ultrasound Guided Interventions such as Lung Tumor Biopsies, Breast Biopsies, Pleural Drainage, and Central Venous Line insertions & much more.
Dr. ABW Gureja has authored multiple research publications in national and international journals, with a strong focus on tuberculosis, multidrug-resistant TB, and respiratory health challenges in Pakistan. As a dedicated educator, he has trained multiple medical specialists and young doctors in pulmonary medicine, Non Communicable Disease (NCD) prevention, and clinical management. He is also founder member of Pakistan Academy of Pulmonology which was established for advanced teaching in pulmonology.
